To empower the students to participate and take up meaningful environment-related activities or projects for a sustainable future, Pub Kamrup College has constituted an Eco-Club. Mission Our mission is to educate, inspire and sensitize the college students on various environmental issues, conservation approaches, sustainable utilization of natural resources and their management in order to create a positive influence between the nature, mankind and environment. Vision Eco-club-Pub Kamrup College’ is a forum by which students of the College can reach out, influence and engage their families, relatives or other neighbourhood communities to instil green lifestyle, promote sound and responsible environmental behaviour. Green initiatives are taken up to equip the youths to deal with environmental concerns through more effective environmental education practices. Initiatives undertaken by Eco-club- Pub Kamrup College: The College introduced a DIARY -Naming as GREEN DIARY to be maintain by the Students of the College. It is an- * Action-based activities such as plantations and cleanliness drive within the college campus. * Environmental awareness programmes on air pollution, waste management practices water conservation approaches and wetland conservation etc. * Seminars and expertise lectures in the area of climate change. * Celebrating occasions like Polar Bear Day, Ozone Day, Earth Day and Environment Day etc. * Students’ participation in Poshan Abhiyan. * Virtual Nature Trail and wetlands’ tour to explore flora and fauna. * Rallies and marches for spreading environmental awareness. * Workshops on Organic Composting. * Field trips to Bio-diversity parks and Nature parks. * Street Play on creating awareness regarding water conservation practices. * Quiz competition on environmental related issues. * Campaigns against use of loud speakers and banned fireworks during Diwali. * Students’ participation in poster-making/ Slogan-writing on Safe Holi Campaign Eco-club- Pub Kamrup College is a forum by which students can reach out, influence and engage their families, relatives or other neighbourhood communities to instil green lifestyle, promote sound and responsible environmental behaviour. The club has been working towards creating environmental awareness at the very grass root level. It also offers wonderful opportunities and empowers the students to explore environmental concepts & knowledge, build attitudes and promote them in order to actively take up environment friendly activities in the real world, which are beyond the confines of a syllabi or curriculum. The club asserts its importance for cleaner environment and go with the legacy of ‘Go Green with Sustainable Living’.
