About Extension Activity Cell, Pub Kamrup College The extension service of higher educational institution is reaching out to a wider sphere through a process of extending knowledge beyond the four walls of the institution which can bring changes in many dimensions of the society for their upliftment. The attitude of sharing to others and learning from others can bring an all round development of the institution as well as the society. Since its inception, Pub Kamrup College has also been conducting different extension activities to fill up the gap of knowledge of students and community for their intellectual and moral development as well as for understanding the contemporary issues. The existing cell tries to work hand in hand with the NSS Unit, Scout and Guide, Womens’ Cell, Students’ Union of the college for conducting different programmes effectively. The college also conducts extension activities in the adopted villages of the college. Objectives The major objectives of the cell are:- (a) To foster social change through offering need based educational programmes by making necessary linkage with the community. (b) To fill up the gap of knowledge of students and community for their intellectual and moral development as well as for understanding the contemporary issues. (c) Serving towards the underprivileged sections of the society. (d) Providing an opportunity of exposition of field experiences and sensitize the students with the problems and realities.
